Free YouTube video downloader for MP4 and MP3
Y2Meta is a free online tool that saves YouTube videos as MP4 files or MP3 audio. It runs in any browser, on a phone or a computer, and it lists every quality with its size before you download anything.
You do not need an account or an app. We do not keep the links you paste or the files you save, so every visit starts clean. Paste a link, compare the qualities and sizes, and keep only the file you really need.
How to download a YouTube video in 3 steps
Copy the link
In the YouTube app tap Share, then Copy link. On a computer, copy the address from the address bar.
Paste it into Y2Meta

Why people use Y2Meta
No account needed
Open the page, paste a link and start. There is no sign-up form, no password to remember and nothing to confirm by email.
See the size first
Every MP4 quality shows its file size, so you know how much space the file needs before you download it.
MP4 from 144p to 1080p
Pick Full HD for a large screen, or a light file for a phone that is short on storage. Only the qualities the video really has are listed.
MP3 from 64 to 320 kbps
Keep only the sound when you want to listen to music, talks or lessons without a connection. 320 kbps is selected for you.
Made for phones
Y2Meta works in Chrome, Safari and other mobile browsers, with nothing to install. Large buttons and a clear list make it easy to use with one hand.

Questions and answers
Is Y2Meta free to use?
Yes. Y2Meta is free for personal use. You do not need an account, a subscription or an app, and the tool works the same on every device.
Which video and audio qualities can I choose?
For MP4 you can choose from 144p up to 1080p, depending on what the video offers. For MP3 you can choose 320, 256, 192, 128 or 64 kbps. Each MP4 option shows its file size before you download.
Is there a file size limit?
No. Long videos and high qualities simply make bigger files. The list shows the size of each option, so you can pick one that fits your phone.
How do I save a video on my iPhone?
Open Y2Meta in Safari, paste the link and tap a quality. The file opens in a new tab: tap the Share icon and choose Save to Files. You will find it in the Files app.
Where does the file go on Android?
If the file starts playing in the new tab, tap ⋮ and then Download. Most Android browsers save it in the Downloads folder, which you can open from the Files app.
Do I need to sign up or install an app?
No. The tool works in your browser on phones, tablets and computers. There is nothing to install and no form to fill in. Just open the page and paste a link.
Can I download YouTube Shorts?
Yes. Paste a Shorts link like any other link. The video keeps its vertical shape, and you can also save the sound as MP3.
Why does my link not work?
Check that you copied the full link of one video, not a channel or a playlist page. Private, removed or blocked videos cannot be saved. If the service is busy, wait a moment and try again.
